Hey, this is not the P1 advertising campaign, okay?

POTONG now! Get 'PAHALA' FREE!!! ;)

Allah said, "If you love God, follow me; God will love YOU." And Allah also said, "Whatever the Prophet gave you, take it, and whatever he forbids you, desist from it."

Muslims should have the nails cut within forty days as the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said, "Do not let forty days elapse without trimming the moustache and paring the nails." (Hadith taken from Muslim) The Prophet Muhammad would cut his nails every fifteen days.

The Sunnah way of cutting the nails is as follows:

Start with the right hand. Index finger, fore finger, ring finger and little finger. Then move onto the left hand. This time start with the little finger first, then ring finger, fore finger, index finger the thumb and lastly the thumb of the right hand.

As for the toe nails: Again start with the right foot. Small toe first and proceed until the big toe. Then move onto the left foot. This time you start with the big toe and conclude with the small toe.

Easy huh? Let's get the satisfaction of Allah. Jom POTONG!!! (^_^)

: : Adnan Sempit & Cikaro : :

I watched Adnan Sempit last night and about died laughing. Ahmad Idham gives a surprisingly consistent comedy loaded with bizarre scenarios ensued by lots of laughter.

To me, the movie was so freaking funny. Seriously. Everybody in the hall was laughing hysterically every minute. (..memang lawak spontan+semulajadi..)

If you need a pick-me-up from a bad day, you should watch this movie. I
highly recommend 'Adnan Sempit' for an extreme night of hilarious comedy entertainment. ..lawak tahap guling2 punya..;P~*

: : SGGS - 1st in Penang : :

Proud to be Georgian. Ex-Georgian:)

Me and Fai in front of the famed clock tower.

Being ranked amongst the Top 5 in the list of high-performance schools in Malaysia, I personally have the feeling of self-respect by which I measure myself-worth:) ...ish~ kembang kempis idong aku ha..

Congratulations to all!

20 schools accorded ‘high performance’ status

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 25 — Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today announced that 20 schools — 14 secondary and six primary — had been accorded the status of high performance schools (SBTs).

Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, said of the 14 secondary schools, 10 are fully residential schools and the rest day schools.

“These schools were chosen from among schools that showed outstanding performance in the field of academia, co-curriculum and niche areas.

“The schools will be guided and monitored closely to ensure they continue to attain even higher levels of performance,” he told reporters at his office here today.

The 10 fully residential schools are Sekolah Tun Fatimah (Johor Bahru), Sekolah Dato’ Abdul Razak (Seremban), Malay College Kuala Kangsar, Sekolah Seri Puteri (Cyberjaya), Sekolah Menengah Sultan Abdul Halim (Jitra). Kolej Tunku Kurshiah (Seremban), Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah (Klang), Sekolah Menengah Sains (SMS) Tuanku Syed Putra (Perlis), Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah (Putrajaya) and SMS Muzaffar Syah (Melaka).

The four day schools are Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) (P) Sri Aman (Petaling Jaya), SMK Aminuddin Baki (Kuala Lumpur), SMK Sultanah Asma (Alor Setar) and SMK (P) St George (Penang).

The six primary schools are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seri Bintang Utara (KL), SK Taman Tun Dr Ismail 1 (KL), SK Bukit Damansara (KL), SK Zainab (2) (Kota Bharu), SK Convent Kota (Taiping), SK Bandar Baru Uda 2 (Johor Bahru).

At the same time, Muhyiddin stressed that SBTs are not elite schools which benefited only a limited number of students. Instead, he said each school in the country had the same opportunity and a level playing field to be recognised as SBTs.

“Any school that meets the targets of excellence and criteria set (by the Education Ministry) will be recognised as a SBTs and get the same privileges,” he said.

Muhyiddin said the ministry targeted to have 30 SBTs by next year and 50 in 2012. He said the rationale in having SBTs was to raise the quality of the best schools in the country to be world class, produce outstanding students and narrow the gap between schools within the system.

He said SBTs would be given additional autonomy to pursue innovation in school management and raise the productivity of students.

As for curriculum, he said, it would be flexible in terms of teaching and learning as well as syllabi for compulsory and elective subjects, conforming to public examinations and use of the national language as the medium of instruction or multiple languages.

Beside these, Muhyiddin said the schools concerned were also given leeway in fixing the minimum periods for subjects, extending schooling hours and allowing students to complete their studies a year earlier, just like the express promotion system that was introduced previously.

In terms of budget ownership, he said a lump sum grant will be channelled to the schools at the beginning of each year and that they would have the full flexibility to spend as needed and are exempted from the ministry’s centralised procurement system.

“Every school has its own budget, but with this status, they will be given additional funds and they can use the money as needed,” he said, adding that the grant may be less than RM1 million but have not been fixed yet as this depended on the size of the SBT.

He also said management of staff at these schools would be based on meritocracy and not seniority, besides flexibility given for the paying of overtime and performance incentives.

“There will also be flexibility to re-assign under performing staff and delegation of functions based on academic and non-academic reasons,” he said.

Muhyiddin said the SBTs will be appraised yearly based on their annual reports with the appropriate performance indicators and inspections by the ministry’s officers in accordance to the revised Malaysian Education Quality Standard.

In relation to this, he said the SBTs would have to fullfil six criterias — attain academic excellence, produce outstanding students, win awards at the national and international level, community work and networking with other schools and higher learning institutions, both locally and internationally.

One of the roles the SBTs would have to play was having their teachers to act as mentors to teachers in other schools through the “immersion” programme involving principals, headmasters and teachers, he said.

Towards maintaing their status as SBTs, he said their strategic plans, management structure, academic and co-curriculum programmes should serve as benchmarks for other schools, locally and abroad.

Muhyiddin said that schools in rural areas could also be selected as SBTs if they fulfill the criterias set.

“I know not all the 10,000 schools (in the country) can reach this status, but irrespective of whether they are urban or rural schools, they stand an equal chance to be accorded SBT status.

“But if the (rural) schools are constrained because they do not have the same facilities as their urban counterparts, we will speed up action to narrow the gap,” he said. — Bernama

: : CORBY Colors My Life : :

Event : Samsung Color Me Corby Carnival
Venue: Sunway Lagoon
Date : 16th January 2010

Phew! I finally managed to update on the event I attended last Saturday. Samsung Nuffnang Color Me Corby Carnival. Not that I am a pea forgetting its pod (kacang lupakan kulit), but I really had a hectic week dealing with classes and bad internet connection.

Back to the event, I could not sleep the night before. (besala aku..lom apa2 dah gabra..hahaha..) That morning, I went there alone not knowing anyone. Who cares? That was kind of great thing about getting to meet new friends and would not have been stuck with the same old people around. kan? kan? kan...??? ;P Corby!!! Opsss~ Where should I start? The registration counter.

Yes, there was the first buddy I got to meet. Ween;) Then, Laila.

Upon the registration, each attendee received a goody bag with attractive merchandises (..siap ada voucher lagik! memang murah hati btol la..) and a team T-shirt based on the
four different Corby Color Groups (White, Yellow, Orange and Pink) assigned to each contestant to be worn.

And I was in the Orange team! (..kechiwa ween sebab dia nak sangat oren ha..tapi dapat pink pulak..jangan jeles..;P) Thanks to the girls in charged for the registration to assign me in the Orange team. Having said that, I make no surprise I guess;)

For about a hundred free entry passes to the Sunway Extreme Park kindly sponsored by the organizer. (..bukan senang tau nak masuk free..tua2 bangka ni memang x dak excuse la nak masuk buta2 ja;P) 75 Nuffnang’s Blogggers and 25 of Samsung Fan Club members
= 100 participants. Yeehaa!!! The game started then! Opsss~ Not yet. Whoa!!! Free breakfast! My hungry tummy had sandwiches and soy bean drink for free, again. Thumbs up to the organizer for that;D~ (..pewot kenyang..hati pon senang..)

"Hello! Hello! Who wants to win Samsung Corby???" There, was the cool emcee for the day - Mr. Liang.

Not forgetting, a welcoming greeting from the Sam
sung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn. Bhd.'s Marketing Manager, Mr. Sam Chen.

Yeah!!!
Primed for a battle! Let's get started! FOUR Corby themes, FOUR Corby teams, FOUR Corby games for FREE Corby phones;)

First game first!

1. Balloon Stomp Game.

Ten from each Corby team tied a watermelon-sized blown balloon to their respective foot and started putting on trial to stomp the opponents' balloons. Woohoo!!! Stomp on the balloons!!! POP! POP! POP!

There was teamwork going on and strategies worked:) One needs to leave the play area once the balloon is popped. Last one with a balloon wins. And the final one was the
Orange team!!!

2. Tug of War.

Guess what? I played for my team;) Being one of five girls required for every team, I was pretty sure that some might doubt my physical capability since I do not look strong enough for the game. hahaha:D Don't judge a book by its cover;P ...urat dawai tulang besi...wired-veins iron-made-bones..okay? I used to play this before yet this time was much challenging. We played in a wading pool, better yet for the losers to fall into! hahaha:D With the equal ratios of boys and girls in each team, the battle started!

Our team positioned believed-to-be-the strongest person in the squad behind the rest as the anchor and staggered ourselves right-and-left of the rope. Picked up the rope and held it tight, my team pulled off the rope with all might.

Once again, we won!
Orange won!

Yes!!! It was a lot of fun in there. Really.

3. Wall Climbing.

Chef Gusteau in Ratatouille said, "Anyone can cook." And I thought, "Anyone can climb." "..berbekalkan pengalaman panjat pokok jambu belakang umah..nescaya aku dapat panjat dengan jayanya.." ujarku sendirian..

Yes, everyone was given the chance to climb. Climb up the wall and get one balloon down. As easy as that? It might sound/look easy but it was damn hard! ..aku rasa cicakman pon pikiaq 2-3 kali nak panjat..adoi~ The game was absolutely hard. Real tough. ..laki pon berapa kerat ja yg buleh panjat..huhu..

With that, (to me myself) "Don't judge a book by its cover". hahaha..kena balik! ;P Two thumbs up to the Orange Superman - Azree;)

..ang la penyelamat team kita daripada dicaci dan dihina..ekekeke..sekurang-kurangnya kita kalah mulia..muahaha.. :D

4. Paintball

The fun-filled carnival had the final game for the team to battle on the ground alongside with the members. The most expecting-and-awaiting game: Paintball!!! That was the BIG time for the four Corby teams since the winning teams would be awarded more points compared to other games. On the other words, the final game would determine the winner of the day! ..alamak..game penentu..adakah aku sanggup memikul tanggungjawab ini??? ..well..never say never..never say no..
Orange team finally chose the TEN chosen one prioritizing those who had experience the game before;) The FIVE experienced teammates were assigned to be in the Orange I

...
and the other FIVE enthusiastic beginners were in the Orange II. Me? I was in the gaga-group;P The yet-to-gain experience team! hehehe..poyo gila..well..bila lagik??? ;D

The fight began! It was time to shoot and get shot!!! BANG! BANG! BANG! (hey..the loud strike okay??? not aBANG;P) Orange I won the forth place with 2 wins and 2 loses. OMG!!! Orange II was in the final against Yellow I for the Corby!!! In the environment marked by rising tensions and diminished expectations, most of us could use a little luck. Luck. Fate. "Help me The Almighty." It was final. I got shot. We got shot. But, it was worth-being-shot.

Orange II gained victory for Orange!!! Orange II gained Corby for everybody in Orange!!! We truly had fun paintballing each other:D

Precisely, the team support was the winning factor.

Orange rocks!!! We merely make our own luck in life;)

Happy but hungry. No disappointment by the organizer. Always. Lunch was provided for everybody to fill up their grumpy tummy.

Again, good job! Burrppp~ Full.

oyeh2~ The prize giving ceremony. Oh-La-La;D

Dominating the games, Orange team was acknowledged for the Grand Prize and the members were awarded a brand new Samsung Corby each. Efforts of each amazing member of Orange team finally paid off!

Yellow team emerged as the 1st Runner Up and won themselves RM100 each.

I had so much fun indeed and I believe everyone enjoyed the event to the fullest with worthful experience and new friends:)

A warm heartfelt thank you to Samsung and Nuffnang for organizing such event which really made my day;) Hats off!!! You guys rock!

: : Seri in Memory : :

"Yone, Seri has passed away".

What???!!! Such a shocking day indeed when I was told by Juliana that Seri is dead:O It is always inevitable, but a shock when it comes to death. My friend is dead. My old friend back in St. George's Girls' School. Shocking and sad news indeed, as I saw a lot of status updates in Facebook giving their kind words for Seri's death especially her close friends.

The moment I heard, she was knocked unconscious and was diagnose
d with a brain tumor before she had been transferred from the Seberang Jaya Hospital to the Penang General Hospital, the worst was anticipated. She underwent surgery and afterwards relying on life support for a few days before the hospital proclaimed her brain dead and announced their intent to unplug her from life support. I hope she finally worked out her purpose in life, before she left it.

Dear Seri Arenawati,

As you lay in a still rest, God broke our hearts to prove he took the best. Everything you did, everything you were will always be in our memories:( If only our love could have saved you. Dear, the love we hold for you will never change.

: : Color Me CORBY? : :

OMG!!! (@_@) I received an email yesterday informing that I have been
chosen to join the all-expense-paid Samsung’s Color Me Corby Carnival which will be held at Sunway Lagoon Extreme Park tomorrow!!!

But, how do I get invited? I neither write a blog post titled "Color Me Corby" nor
upload a picture of myself themed with one of the colors of Samsung Corby. I am not amongst 75 Nuffnangers who sent in the most creative valid entries to get an invite to the Samsung Corby Carnival earlier. Or, perhaps I am just one of the luckiest Samsung's fans:) Am I just so lucky? Pretty lucky I guess.

*adrenalline.rush* oyeh2~ ;D

Betty wants Corby for FREE!!! weee;D~

: : skxawng = moron : :

I was lucky enough to get tickets to watch Avatar at only RM6. (..well..memang x sia2 aku kosongkan jadual hari rabu malam;P)
I originally am/was not interested in science fiction movies. Yet, upon hearing the overwhelming positive feedback from the general public, we went for that movie and I am glad I did. (..memang berbaloi!!! :D)

Avatar lived up to my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Extraordinarily brilliant! I would say that Avatar is one of the most anticipated movies. Visually stunning, felt like I was blown away by this super-hit movie just like everyone else seems to be. A remarkable level of realism, no doubt. I cannot think of a word good enough to give it the credit it deserves.

Jake Sully: I see you.
Neytiri: I see you.

A big WOW to Avatar for its awe-inducing visuals! I truly wished I could have watched the 3-D version:( Anyhow, experience yourself the masterpiece of Pandora;)

: : Life of Colours : :

Colours are magic spells.

When you think of life, what colour comes to your mind?

L.I.F.E. - I think of white! Yes, white. As for me, white is all colours as life is like a rainbow!

Life, full of tears and light. Rainbows, made of rain and sunshine - as the sunlight enters the falling drops and breaks up into its true colours. Hence, rainbows symbolize life. The promise of God's blessing.

"Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true".

Lyman Frank Baum

White has always been associated with life. The colour of successful beginnings as well as clear endings.
White projects perfection. It signifies purity.

Do you take colour very much for granted?

Dreams do come true. Hold to your dreams. Keep looking up because it is the only way you could see rainbows.

Take a moment every day to feel and enjoy the colours around you. Live your life in full colour!

: : Holmes - Clever As Ever : :

"Data, data, data, I cannot make bricks without clay."

Adding an energetic insouciance
, Robert Downey Jr. and the reinvented Dr. Watson (starring Jude Law) turned Sherlock Holmes to be solid! (..errr~ ke sebab aku memang suka dia ek..???;P) Much more sophisticated, indeed. (..memang tip-top;P)

I absolutely loved the movie -
never less than entertaining throughout!!! Full of mystery with a black-magic deed. And, I valued the background music too;)

A *****-rated movie recommended to the cinema-goers!

...so..geng2 movie-goers aku..leh aa layan movie sama2 lagik pasni..pastikan hari+waktu tayangan yg sama serta yg sewaktu dengannya bagi keselesaan bersama (harga tiket RM6 sahaja;P) maka dengan itu..terpaksa la aku mengumumkan cuti khas setiap hari rabu;D tenkiu - aisya+iqbal+aly

: : Not As Imagined : :

What a disappointment:(

The movie was just boring. Unique? No, not at all. It is kind of hard to explain but I would say it - strange. I felt like leaving my seat! Fortunately, the company of a friend that got the money is worth. Thank you Afzal.

However, only a few parts of the movie work - yet, the movie just sort of starts to ravel out half-way through. Dull:( A thumbs down to The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.

: : Who Would Have Thought? : :

An infinitely long time since I last talked to him. Mr.X.

A year has marched onwards tardily since then - with the fear that he would disappear forever. A year seems a decade! And, today is his special day. His birthday. It is 5th January. Not knowing
where he is today nor if he is doing well or not, I hope that he has found the happiness and life I could not give him. (T_T)

: : Happy Birthday My Dior : :

Wherever you may be, as your spirit is with me, evermore.

A special heart,
From the very start.
Like a work of art,
I set apart.

A precious soul,
Creators goal.
Like a birthday smile,
Please last awhile.

Your heart and soul,
Like a sacred scroll.
Warms my heart,
When we’re apart.
